This module of Environmental Health and toxicology deals with the interactions, transformation, fate and effects of natural and synthetic chemicals in the biosphere including individual organisms, populations and the whole ecosystems.
The course aims to equip the learners with basic principles in various environmental protocols regulations, standardization, inspection and enforcement mechanisms of pollution control. A description of Environmental Impact Assessment, theories of risk, project-based risk management, environmental management in an organization, environmental risk considerations in policy making, risk communication and sources of legal regulation of environmental problems.
This module aims to familiarize learners to different structures of natural compounds, to know how they can be isolated, chemically characterized or identified. It goes through different utilities of these compounds in different domainsĀ including pharmaceutical, medicine, food industries, flavoring, cosmetics, aromatherapy and so on.
