This module is dedicated to thermal and statistical physics. Both classical and quantum theories will be considered in this module. Gibbs Method will be emphasized. having completed this module you will have enough knowledge and deep understanding on the following concepts:
i) Laws of thermodynamics
ii) Thermodynamic potentials and their applications
iii) Phase equilibrium and phase transitions
iv) Principal representations of classical statistical physics
v) Basic principles of quantum statistical physics
vi) Teaching and learning strategies related to thermal and statistical physics.
This module deals with basic concepts and principles in electronics and communication. The module introduces the concepts of crystalline solids, semiconductor’s structure and basic electronics devices but also introduces logic fundamentals, analog /digital signals, and block diagram of telecommunication systems.
This module deals with basic concepts and principles of electrodynamics. This module introduces propagation of electromagnetic waves in conducting, isotropic and anisotropic dielectric media as well as in bounded media and also deals with potential formulation of electrodynamics.
The main goal of the module is to introduce students to “Analytical Mechanics and Special Relativity” and its applications, and for them to learn and understand the fundamentals of this important module.
We recommend you to read all the materials provided for this module.
