The purpose of the module “Fundamentals of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)” is to promote
safety, standard analysis, and good management of the laboratory environment regarding data
quality, reliability, integrity, traceability, and reproducibility. The module also covers basic
mathematics, equipment, techniques, and the core aspects of scientific research including
planning, monitoring, recording, analyzing, reporting, and archiving. GLP skills are essential
for all wet lab analyses in medical, agriculture, environmental, and chemical industries.
Welcome to the module of Biodiversity life I
The aim of this module is to introduce students to the diversity of life and the indicate value of conserving biological diversity. Content includes introduction to the following: levels of biological diversity, diversity of plants, diversity of animal, diversity in microscopic organisms, conservation of biodiversity. By the end of the module, students must be able to describe the levels of biological diversity, characterize and classify various plant and animal groups, analyze the importance of diversity in microorganisms, and determine efficient and practical measures to maintain the diversity of life.
This module is aimed to provide students with a basic understanding of biochemistry in
general sense. It deals with the major elements of common laboratory tools and equipment
used in biochemistry, mathematics and calculations, solutions, dialysis, cell disruption, cell
fractionation, protein and DNA isolation. It introduces students on different simple
biochemical techniques of analysis and how to apply them.
The objective of this module is to provide students with basic theoretical and practical knowledge and skills about basic genetic concepts and evolution theories. This includes genetics basic concepts, Mendelian genetics, and extended Mendelian genetics. Students will learn about the evolution theory, its different theories and proofs.
Welcome to the module of Introduction to Biotechnology!
This module is aimed to provide students with a basic understanding of the biotechnology industry. It deals with the major elements of the global significance of biotechnology, types of biotechnology, biotechnology processes and products, in the context of "traditional" vs "modern" biotechnology. It introduces students on different biotechnology techniques and how to apply these techniques in bioprocessing, gene, therapy medicine, agriculture, and forensics, ect…
