This is an introductory to economics course that covers topics in microeconomics and some of Macroeconomics. The breath of topical coverage limits the course objectives to subject matter mastery. The course will present factual material concerning the operation of the firm and household as well as the development of rudimentary understanding of economic decision-making.

The entire module will have the following main Topics:  Introduction: 10 Principles of economics ,  How markets work, Markets and welfare, The economics of the public sector, Firm behaviour and the organization of industry, The economics of labor markets. we will look a bit on macroeconomics problems, Macroeconomics theories and macroeconomics Policies.

Semester I

The principles of law also referred to as Introduction to Law is a module administered to learners who normally have in their programs other Law modules. It gives the general idea on what law is and its theories. For this specific module, learners will acquire skills and knowledge pertaining the definition of law, branches of law, characteristics of law compared to other normative rules, sources of law with a special attention to the constitution, the legislation, the delegated legislation, precedents and general principles. The module also covers aspects of obligations resulting from laws, contracts, quasi-contracts and torts. It further identifies legal persons and the ownership theory, before venturing into disputes resolution and justice administration. A diversity of references were used, including the Constitution, Property related laws, Courts jurisdictions and Procedural laws, besides precedents and scholars publications focusing on general notions of Law. You are warmly welcomed to the course and your interests in it will shape your way for further law modules ahead.
