Trimester 1

In this module, you will learn about cultures and civilisations from antiquity to the Middle Ages using comparative approach. This module discusses the turning point of great western medieval history, beginning with Mesopotamian civilisation, which is considered as the precursor of modern civilisations. We will look at the general influences of Greco-Roman civilisations on global culture and the contributions of various civilisations to intellectual, artistic, political, social and cultural change in human development process. Apart from theses main antique civilisations, this module put also a great importance to the Middle Ages and modern period history.

Course image ECE2142: PLAY, FIRST AID AND SAFETY ISSUES
Trimester 1

The module introduces the students to the concepts, principles, theories and practices impacting Play, First Aid and Safety dealing with Issues in Early Childhood Development. It elaborates on the types of play, its importance in the child development. The module describes various children’s play and games in Rwandan contexts. Students are introduced to common children’s accidents, first aids for emergency cases and prevention means. The module content and learning activities will be uploaded on moodle for students to access them and interact online.

Course image MTE2141: GEOMETRY
Trimester 1

The module introduces students to notions of coordinates; vectors; scalar product; cross product; box product; it also introduces students to notion of length, norms, area and volumes. It also introduces students to plane and space analytical geometry: point, straight line, trigonometry, circle, conics, plane, and surfaces. 

Finally, it involves students in manipulation of shapes and solids using local materials applied to everyday life (architecture and arts).
