Welcome to Rural Energy course; students would possess in depth knowledge of different sources of rural energy and their themes like Wind and Solar Thermal Energy Applications, Bio energy Conversion Systems, and Farm Electrification. They would acquire the knowledge and skill of Instrumentation and measurement techniques
In this module, students will get introduced to 1) Thermodynamic properties, Thermodynamic processes. 2) To gain basic understanding of Laws of perfect gas. Gas equation and Avogadro’s law and different laws of thermodynamics. 3) To get understanding of working principles of Heat engines and different cycles, Steam engine and boilers.
In this module, students will get introduced to the basics of Fluid Mechanics: Properties of fluids, Measurement of pressure, hydrostatic force analysis of a submerged body, Types of fluid flow, Bernoulli’s theorem and Principles of Pascal’s law
This module will also cover the Theory of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning like vapor compression and absorption systems, components of mechanical refrigeration, properties of refrigerants, principles of air conditioning – air mixing – cooling and heating coils – duct design – cooling load estimation; application of refrigeration and air conditioning.
Welcome to the Statistics module, this is a 10 credits taught in year two, Agricultural mechanization. The module will focus on how to solve problems of interest and utilize the fundamentals concept of Statistics and probability in the field of agriculture.
