This module explores the role of the cardiorespiratory physiotherapist, integrating skills and techniques, theoretical concepts, clinical reasoning and the evolving body of knowledge from current evidence. Evidence based practice is examined in the light of changing health care developments in the area of cardiorespiratory module. It also explores the causes of cardiopulmonary dysfunction and implications of different pathological states to modifications in practice.

The Purpose of this module is to familiarize Physiotherapy students with basic knowledge in anatomy, physiology, common diseases/conditions involving cardiovascular and pulmonary system, as well as various types of interventions for treatment. There will be an emphasis on providing appropriate physiotherapy examination, evaluation, interventions, prognosis, and outcomes for patient with cardiopulmonary diseases.
