Pediatrics: Track Specific Modules

This module gives students the opportunity to develop their advanced clinical health assessment skills focusing on effective methods of data collection including accurate use of instruments and using a systematic approach to physical examination of a child.  

In this module, the learner will be presented with high morbidity/mortality acute and chronic illnesses of childhood (infants over one month) relevant to the Rwandan context. Recognizing symptoms that warrant higher level care and triage will be emphasized. Immediate emergency treatment for the common child illnesses particularly of burns and trauma will be discussed in detail in the course.
