Oncology: Track Specific Modules

Welcome to Cancer Pathophysiology and therapeutic interventions I module.

This module is designed to develop the students’ understanding of the common cancers and the treatment modalities for oncology patients including surgery, chemotherapy treatment; the mechanisms of action of various treatment modalities; and use of antimicrobials. The student will develop an understanding of the importance of maintaining a safe environment for the patient and the healthcare team and the physiological basis for oncological emergencies and medical and nursing management.  Finally, interventions to support families and caregivers are also a focus of the module.
