TRIMESTER 2

The purpose of this clinical module(Credits: 40) is to provide learners with the scientific knowledge, systematic and experiential inquiry skills and attitudes corresponding with specialized anaesthesia practice needed to provide care for patients. . Pre-requisite or requisite modules: Essentials of critical care. . Learning Outcomes At the end of the module the trainee should be able to: 1-Perform and clearly understand the clinical significance of Intra-arterial Cannulation 2-Measure and clearly understand the clinical implication of Central Venous Pressure 3-Utilize a transducer, understand how it works and where and when it is appropriately applied 4-Understand clearly how to use automatic ventilators and related monitors in ICU 5-Understand clearly the clinical use of ECG monitor, and its data interpretation 6-Manage correctly the critically ill patients admitted to ICU: -Diabetics -Asthmatics -Hypertensives -Cardiac Pts -Haepato-renal failures -Respiratory insufficiency -All Pains -Severe burns -Cardiopulmonary Resuscitatio(CPR) for patients of all age groups -Post Anaesthesia Care -Severe traumas - Severe Shocks: Haemorrhagic Anaphylactic Neurologic Septic Cardiogenic etc… 7-Manage difficult Airway 8-Compile a written progressive treatment report on every patient
