Labor Economics is the study of the workings and outcomes of the market for labor.

More specifically, Labor Economics is primarily concerned with the behavior of employers and employees in response to the general incentives of wages, prices, profits, and non pecuniary aspects of the employment relationship, such as working conditions. These incentives serve both to motivate and to limit individual choice.

Trimester 2

This module is a continuation of the course “Econometrics-1”. The overall objective of this module is to provide with students to further develop their analytical stills and abilities from using basic to intermediate econometric techniques  for Quantitative analysis and forecasting. The module follows a systematic approach to model based on formulation, estimation, interpretation and evaluation of economic phenomena using econometrics tools. These concepts will be reinforced through practical classes, which also provide an opportunity for students to develop investigative skills.

This module examines the role of public sector in the economy. The aim of the course is to provide an understanding of the reasons for government intervention in the economy, the extent of that intervention and the response of the private agents to the government's actions.

Trimester 2

This course is a continuation of the course “Econometrics-1”. The primary aim of this course is to further develop the students’ ability to use basic and intermediate econometric techniques  for Quantitative analysis and forecasting. The course follows a systematic approach to model building focusing on formulation, estimation, interpretation and evaluation. These concepts will be reinforced through practical classes, which also provide an opportunity for students to develop investigative skills.

Trimester 2


This module has been disigned for the year four students, all options and is a module which will help students aquiring knowledge and skills in Project Management and Evaluation.
Briefly, the current labor market do require students to be proactive and innovative which may lead them to create jobs
for themselves without really depending on the public sector, therefore this module is good enough as will provide relevant
skills and practicals to students so that they will be able to develop businesses or projects and manage them well,
which will result to solve many socio and economic problems most of communities face including ours in particural.
The module covers three parts which will be taught through 9 units and E-Tivity at the end of each, so students are welocome and required to be active participants in this module.

Brief description and aims:

To help students to be able:

a) To get a clear picture of the dimensions and aspects of development projects.

b) To broaden the student’s knowledge of Project Management so that he/she is able to relate to a real business situation.

c)  To know how to efficiently manage development projects as well as how to analyze the data in the context of planning development projects in the country.

d)  To analyze investment projects

e)  To help students develop self-awareness of the technical and business abilities they need to develop and survive in business.

f) To know what critical path means in relation to the types of project

g)  To enhance the technical and management aspects associated with effectively managing projects.
