Dear Students,

Welcome to this course entitled"Disease Prevention and Control". This module is designed to empower environmental health sciences students with the skills to prevent and control the spread of infection through effective education and training. This module aims to educate the learner on healthcare-associated infections and developed an understanding of their roles and responsibilities preventing the spread of infection in all healthcare, community sector, workplace settings and apply IPC principles in case of outbreaks. It enables the graduate to identify the common diseases and institute appropriate measures for their prevention and control and introduce graduate to the practice of Infection Prevention and Control and provides students with a deep knowledge of important concepts and control in communicable diseases, and many of the skills to apply these concepts in practice.

It is divided into four course units: Communicable Diseases, Non-Communicable Diseases, Medical Entomology and Infection Prevention and Control.
