Course image TMMAT 23: Teaching Methods of Mathematics
Trimester 3

This module aims to enable students to teach efficiently secondary school students by helping students to develop a deep understanding of the philosophical foundations of the teaching of mathematics, develop careful reasoning  and mathematical common sense in analyzing conceptual relationships. Along with building mathematical knowledge, the module aims at helping students develop a mind of mathematical thinker and demonstrate flexible, interactive teaching styles.

Trimester 3

The module recalls first the concept of vector space seen in secondary school. It starts from this concept and introduces the vector space of the linear transformations with the particular case of the dual vector space; it also studies the vector space of matrices which is a representation of linear transformations.

Trimester 3

This module, as it is intended to develop competent teachers, presents the main theoretical information pertained to Biology and Chemistry teaching and learning. Among them, there are those related to history and nature of science. Also, why it is important to teach and learn science including Biology and Chemistry as ones of science subjects is discussed. Additionally, what and how to implement in those subjects, resources to be used in the implementation, planning for teaching and learning, assessing for and of learning. Moreover, by this module, participants will enhance their teaching experience by putting into actions their lesson materials and then get constructive feedback from their colleagues and other observers through micro-teaching activities.
