The module recalls first the concept of vector space seen in secondary school. It starts from this concept and introduces the vector space of the linear transformations with the particular case of the dual vector space; it also studies the vector space of matrices which is a representation of linear transformations.
The purpose of this module is to equip diploma student-teachers from Physics and chemistry combination (PCE) with the competence and confidence to help them to develop skills, attitudes and values to successfully implement the Physics and chemistry competence-based curriculum (CBC) at O’ level of secondary schools. Click here for the indicative content, intended learning outcomes and indicative resources.
The purpose of this module is to equip diploma student-teachers from mathematics and Physics combination (MPE) with the competence and confidence to help them to develop skills, attitudes and values to successfully implement the mathematics and Physics competence-based curriculum (CBC) at O’ level of secondary schools.
This module is about specific teaching methods for Mathematics and Biology. It will expose you to the history and nature of Mathematics and Science (Biology), philosophical foundations of Mathematics and Science education, Methods used to teach and learn those subjects, resources used to teach and learn Mathematics and Biology. Further, the curriculum to be implemented in schools will be explored and be implemented in micro-teaching or by analysing the video-recorded lessons.

This module, as it is intended to develop competent teachers, presents the main theoretical information pertained to Biology and Chemistry teaching and learning. Among them, there are those related to history and nature of science. Also, why it is important to teach and learn science including Biology and Chemistry as ones of science subjects is discussed. Additionally, what and how to implement in those subjects, resources to be used in the implementation, planning for teaching and learning, assessing for and of learning. Moreover, by this module, participants will enhance their teaching experience by putting into actions their lesson materials and then get constructive feedback from their colleagues and other observers through micro-teaching activities.
This module is aimed to deal with the internal organization of computer system.
Welcome to CHE1344, the module will be dealing with two main parts:
1. Chemical thermodynamics and
2. Chemical kinetics
The module includes some mathematics and physics. It is good to remind on how to use calculus, derivatives and differential.
Good luck!!
This module deals with general Organic chemistry. It treats general molecular and structural formulas, and developed planes, systematic nomenclature, physical properties, chemical reactions and methods of preparation of alkanes and cycloalkanes, alkenes and alkynes, aromatic compounds, halogenated organic compounds, organometallic compounds, alcohols, phenols and ethers, the aldehydes and ketones, carboxylic acids and their derivates, nitrogenous organic compounds.
The module introduces students to animal taxonomy and physiology. The content mainly includes classification and anatomical, physiological, behavioural and ecological characteristics of major phyla from Porifera to Chordata. Strategies for teaching and learning this module will be highlighted.
This course introduces students to the animal diversity. The main content is mainly about the taxonomy of animals abased on their main characteristics of the major animal phyla. Further, it includes an outline of anatomical, physiological, behavioural and ecological characteristics of major phyla from Invertebrates to vertebrates. .
Sports Management introduces to the students all the management skills required in sports industry. It covers an understanding of all sports related concepts, leadership types, leadership skills, sports facilities and equipment, sports marketing and sponsorship. On the other hand, Dietetics for sports equips students with the knowledge of food and drink selection for maximum sports performance. It touches on parameters of fitness and how food and drink selection can enhance sports performance. It's a 10 unit module in which students will combine online learning with face to face sessions.
This module aims to enable students to teach efficiently secondary school students by helping students to develop a deep understanding of the philosophical foundations of the teaching of mathematics, develop careful reasoning and mathematical common sense in analyzing conceptual relationships. Along with building mathematical knowledge, the module aims at helping students develop a mind of mathematical thinker and demonstrate flexible, interactive teaching styles.
