This module is a copy of an already existing taught module. I would like to modify it for my assignment in the training for the Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in High Education_PGCLTHE offered by the University of Rwanda under the College of Education. After reaching the feedback from the trainers, I will be able to update the module I am teaching.
This module introduces the learner to sociological aspects of family, its dynamics and diversity according to how the society shapes it. In the same line the module discuss how society manage issues of health and illness, disease and disorders, and healthcare for both the sick and the healthy. Sociology of health studies the doctor/patient relationship, the structure and socioeconomics of healthcare, and how culture impacts attitudes toward disease and wellness.
Brief description of aims and content (Not more than five lines)
This Module aims at:
i) Educating students in the understanding of social work intervention ;
ii) Defining social work intervention and its importance for practice;
iii) Exploring key steps undertaken at each level of social work intervention;
iv) Training students to become creative and practical in daily encounter with clients.
This is introducing you to the concepts of gender and cooperative in a more detailed ways compared to what you were familiar with.
