Course image NUS1354: Clinical Placement for Nurses I
Year One

Dear students,

Welcome to clinical placement I

The purpose of this module is to prepare students to provide basic care for patients diagnosed as having a physical illness (medical) and/or a surgical procedure which has confined them to acute or chronic care hospital and other health care settings. This module will also integrate students in clinical places and allow them to be able to perform learned procedures, communicate effectively to clients/patients, visit communities and assess their health needs. The students will gain knowledge and skills to deal with environmental and psychosocial factors which can influence the state of health and illness; and integrate the relationship between clients and care givers as key principles in responding to patient care needs. The student will contribute to the health promotion, disease prevention, disease treatment and client rehabilitation.
